Launch Night Party
10.8.17 7pm - 1am

Well, well 9 years, hard to believe UII has been on the White Isle and doing its thing for almost a decade. With the island constantly changing and evolving UII has always been at the cutting edge of change and constantly reinvents itself each year with new themes and styles to titillate, stimulate, entertain and inspire.

This year is no different and looks to be another blockbuster. With the award winning event going back to its original roots and structure again including the much anticipated fashion shows, live paintings, live music and one off touches in its own unmistakable style. Along with the main exhibition we’ll also have ‘Jacket In’ which includes 2 dozen hand painted leather biker jackets by the biggest names in the game!!!

For UII #9 we will be showcasing a special kids day called ‘Urban Mites’ which will have a special kids fashion catwalk, kids graffiti classes and showcases which include Mercedes Fashion Week's winner of best new comer Tom Vanderborght’s brand new ultra cool kids collection. Tom was the highlight of UII 2013 catalogue that stole the show so we are chuffed to hear he's back again.

Also this year, in conjunction with Art Battle London we will be hosting the first Art Battle Ibiza. Where we will invite local talent and artists to take part in two live heats and battle it out for the winning spot. The winner will have the honour of being included in UII exhibition for the duration of its stay alongside the coveted golden brush and special prizes - this will be judged by some of Europe's biggest street artists and special celebrity guest.

The remaining pieces will be auctioned for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Tailored Anarchy which is founded by Paul Dizzi Saunders is a fashion label that will be launching its brand-new jewellery range ‘Charm Offensive’ and showcasing their collaboration with OMCSU as part of the catwalk show. The hand painted biker jackets will not only become part of the static exhibit, but will also be one of the 3 fashion shows with a few tailored anarchy twists planned to boot! The ‘live paint’ will this year see some of the UII originals back alongside some fresh faces new to the family urban. Live music acts, DJs especially picked and flown over from Europe and the UK add to this extravaganza and when you put that together with 50 of the top urban artist in the world it’s looking like once again urban invasion is set to take over and blow your mind.

MUSIC

IZZI

With both her parents being singers and her father a radio presenter, Izzi Dunn took up cello aged nine, surrounded by music. The multiple-disciplined artist honed her style and taste through the movements of soul, combining vocals and cello to form an impassioned voice, which speaks of values within our present.

This year introduces Izzi Dunn's Recycle Love. Through strength and struggle, and the conflicts between desire and dependency, Recycle Love toils through human emotions, nature and values within the world presented to us. A story of belonging and personal experience runs through the album's tone, and through musical diversity Dunn creates a cinematic journey to reflect on our own selves. With a current state of affairs where fact is indistinguishable from fiction, and terror hides behind shirts and ties, Recycle Love exposes vulnerability and talks about our families, our time, and all that lies within.

JUNKERY

When you hear a Junkrerry track its hard to imagine everything is being performed by one person, and seeing it live is even more impressive!

Looping her voice, electric guitar with live computers, to create layers and textures of original music. Its no surprise she's gained a cult following and working with some amazing visual artists.

Born in Paris and lived in India for 10 years, she sings in English, French and Hindi. She's rejected the mainstream on more then on occasion. Junkerry composes, writes and produces everything at her simple home studio in the South of France.

Then gives it away for free!

Her music has a deep warmth, lyrics fill your head with questions and answers. Songs feel fresh yet familiar, its hard to pigeon hole her music, often switching from ambient to chilled to electro within the track. Her voice and that sweet french accent is difficult to forget - she calls her sound "Contemporary Pop"

"I love experimenting with my music. I often take complex sounds and beats and try to make them feel simple. They are enough people are trying to be complex!"

For the "As We Are" single Junkerry collaborated with London Fashion Illustrator Patrick Morgan (Dior, YSL, Tom Ford), after Google Tilt gave them access to play with unreleased technology in 2016 - they created the worlds 1st "art inspired VR 360 music video"

In a VR industry focused on games, its certainly different, then again Junkerry is not your average music maker!
